Ruhlman competes in ALMS event at I-96 Speedway

Clarklake, MI

Friday night found Brian at I-96 Speedway to drive the Lawrence Motorsports #11 late model in a Sunoco American Late Model Series event. He started his heat race in 9th place and finished in 4^th, putting him into the feature event. Starting the A-main in the 15^th spot, he was able to move up to 10^th place, finishing the race 2 spots behind ALMS point leader Aaron Scott.

Crystal Speedway cancelled Saturday racing for the ALMS event early on Friday due to the forecast of bad weather. With only one ALMS event this weekend, the point standings are as follows: 1^st-Aaron Scott; 2^nd-Rusty Schlenk; 3^rd-Brian Ruhlman; 4^th-Kris Patterson; and 5^th-Rusty Seaver. Scott leads Schlenk by only two points with Brian right behind them, only 4 points out of the lead. The next ALMS race will be held on May13th at Hartford Speedway Park in Hartford, MI. Brian will also be running the #49 E-mod that night.

On Saturday, Brian competed in the UMP Modified race at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH, driving the #20 Chuck Sanning owned car. He was leading his heat race when the drive shaft broke and he was unable to finish.

Next weekend Brian will be piloting his own #49 late model at I-96 Speedway on Friday night and Oakshade Raceway in Wausoen, OH on Saturday night.
